One of the biggest challenges for learners on YouTube is the time they have to spend on preparing additional tools to study. Think pausing the videos in between, taking notes, and making some sort of review materials (Then index cards!). Our aim is to minimize such efforts by automatically generating all that in a form of a quiz. This is what happens when you play a YouTube video with Quizium on:

We get it. “Pop-up? Ew.” Most of us hate it as it’s often the signs of abusive marketing schemes. But there’s a reason why we offer — and actually encourage- using quiz pop-up mode on Quizium.
In a typical online-learning setting with videos, you are on the receiving end of a one-way communication. Regardless of the content quality, this can result in learning loss and a lack of meaningful engagement.
With the pop-up mode, you are deliberately challenged to interact and utilize the information you just learned. When you answer the question, you will receive an immediate and corrective feedback to help reinforcement. In our initial user test, over 80% of the participants found pop-up mode helpful in remembering what they studied.
Quiz Question Quality
We are constantly tweaking our AI algorithms so that it can analyze a videos content and distinguish important details from the non-informational segments. This ensures that all of the questions, explanations, and summaries generated by Quizium are accurate and faithful to the video’s educational objectives.
We also offer different types of questions such as multi-select question, and true or false. Our team is on our way to add more variants to best meet the needs of different educational domains.
Review, Recap, and Rewatch
Quizium currently offers two different features to assist study reviews. For one, we have “Rewatch”, which takes you back to a particular section of the video that’s relevant to the quiz question. This means you don’t have to watch the entire content again, but instead only the part you need.
We also have the “Bookmarks” page where you can revisit and retake quiz questions. Such practice is known to strengthen your memory formation, as it helps transfer knowledge from short-term to long-term memory.
